We chatted with designer Kristie Schneider about this inviting girls room she recently renovated for a Las Vegas family.
Q: What were the parents’ reasons for designing this space?
A: The parents have four children, and three of them are girls. So they wanted to create a space that the girls could enjoy and grow into, together. With two twin beds above and a full size with pull out trundle beneath, I envision this room hosting a lot of memorable bedtime stories and fun sleepovers.
Q: What was the inspiration for creating this design?
A: The mother told me she loves the rustic styles of HGTV’s Joanna Gaines. She wanted a durable, yet beautiful design with warm wood tones and industrial metal accents while still keeping it light and open.
Q: The bunk bed looks really unique. How did you come up with it?
A: We asked the client for some inspirational photos. With those, and the measurements, our team sketched out a detailed design so the parents could “see” it. Once approved, we collaborated with Kingdom Home to work through the final details and build it. The girls are now enjoying this Las Vegas room at an opportune time!
